The Red Wine Must Haves
It’s finally getting warmer! And with it our favourite Sunday activity with family and friends: barbecuing. Here is the list of wines that go very well with your barbecue.
Before choosing wines for your barbecue, think about the flavours of your dishes. Smoke, sweet sauces or sauces with a more robust flavour than usual, red meat, grilled vegetables. These are usually flavours with character. You should choose red wines with red meat (beef, hamburger, lamb, etc.).
Considering the situation (smoke, informal atmosphere, variety of dishes), you should always choose young red wines. Surprise your best friends, your favourite colleagues and your family with the right wine on these warm days.

The Pinotage vines are planted on well-drained blue broken shale soils at an altitude of 250 metres above sea level on the western slope of the Tygerberg and within sight of the Atlantic Ocean. Using the VSP trellis system, a typical harvest is 7 to 8 tonnes per hectare. The grapes were hand picked, fermented in open fermenters with regular push downs. After pressing, the wine was transferred to stainless steel tanks for malolactic fermentation. The Pinotage was then aged for 12 months in 12% new French barriques and 12% new American barriques.
