Der Name Fort Simon ist zum Einen eine Remineszenz an Dr. Simon Uys, dem Gr\u00fcnder dieses Weinguts und zum anderen dem fort\u00e4hnlichen Aufbau der Geb\u00e4ude zu verdanken. 1970 wurde im grossen Stil die Rebberge angelegt. In den Bottelary Hills gelegen, werden auf Fort Simon 101 Hektar beste Rebanlagen auf H\u00f6hen von 170m bis 370m kultiviert.<\/span><\/p>\n

Winemaker<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Fort Simon hat einen neuen K\u00f6nig f\u00fcr den Weinkeller gekr\u00f6nt. Dirk Tredoux blickt auf eine lange Geschichte der Weinherstellung zur\u00fcck. Auf angesehenen Weing\u00fctern wie Asara, Jordan Vrede en Lust und so weiter hat er bereits sein K\u00f6nnen unter Beweis gestellt. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail wird er sicher stellen, dass die Weine von Fort Simon ihre Qualit\u00e4t behalten wenn nicht sogar neue H\u00f6hen erreicht.<\/span>
Die Leidenschaft zum Wein fand er in Kalifornien. Nach seiner R\u00fcckkehr nach S\u00fcdafrika absolvierte er sein Weinbaustudium in Elsenburg.<\/span>
Papa von zwei S\u00f6hnen Jean und Philip und Mann von Maryke Tredoux welche sein Leben nebst dem Wein berreichern.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fort Simon: Die weissen Weine sind allesamt frisch, fruchtig, konzentriert, komplex mit mineraligen Untert\u00f6nen. Die roten Weine sind ebenfalls fruchtig mit angenehmen Gerbstoffen, aromatisch, elegant und sch\u00f6ner Dichte. Die sch\u00f6n eingebauten Fassnoten mit dem langem Abgang komplettieren die Rotweine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fortress Hill: Dazu kommen die vielen Value-Awards f\u00fcr die Fortress Hill Linie von Fort Simon. Das sind diejenigen Weine, die trotz guter Qualit\u00e4t, nicht unter dem Fort Simon Etikett abgef\u00fcllt werden.<\/span><\/p>\n
