Another very impressive Cabernet Sauvignon. The aromatics are pure and noble, dominated by cool, dark, maritime, saline notes of crème de cassis, seaweed, spicy black cherry and vibrant crushed blackberry, star anise, cardamom, salty black licorice and a hint of creamy vanilla oak spice. The palate is very seamless with a fabulously elegant texture, silky soft, mineral graphite tannins, a plush, fleshy black fruit richness on the mid-palate and plenty of vibrant, fresh acidity on the finish. This is classic Le Riche Reserve Cabernet at its most seductive, though remarkably already so accessible, expressive and utterly delicious.

Vinifikation The vines come from vineyards in Raithby, Firgrove, and Jonkershoek. Reserve status is only granted if the grapes and the resulting wine meet exceptional quality standards. Hand-picked grapes from older, lower-yielding vines are used. Fermentation takes place with a selected yeast strain at a controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation in wooden barrels, the wine matures for 24 months in 225-liter French oak barrels, 85% of which were new.
