Product Description:
Intense dark colour. The nose is restrained, with aromas of black berries, liquorice and cedar notes. On the palate, it is dense and fresh, followed by fine, dense tannins. This wine has excellent longevity and would benefit from decanting if enjoyed young.

Vinifikation The vines were planted on southwest-facing slopes in well-drained, decomposed granite soils from the Bottelary Hills and the Jonkershoek Valley. These vineyards have access to additional irrigation. The destemmed grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks with regular punch-downs, followed by maceration before pressing. Malolactic fermentation took place in French oak barrels, and the wine then matured for 18 months in 25% new French oak barrels.
