The Easter weekend gave us time and sun and brought new wines to enjoy with family and friends from now on.
This year’s harvests are finished, and winification is underway. We at KapWeine are always looking for new wineries and new top vintages, although we also have to provide occasional supplies. After all, what is old lasts the longest, or at least as long as bottles of the production are still available.

Dark crimson in colour, the 2019 announces itself with mulberries, cherries, plums and warm spices. The coolness of the vintage is reflected in the glass, with aromas of dark berries and lavender, pencil shavings and cedar that continue on the palate. Finely structured tannins combine well with the bright acidity and longevity of the fruit elements of this classic blend.

Boschkloof Conclusion is a true expression of good grape quality and terroir. The wine has been made as natural as possible. The nose shows aromas of mixed herbs, crushed plums and some nice cigar box aromas. The wine is highly concentrated, with a big but elegant mid palate and a long finish.

The Constantia Glen Two flows into the glass in a seductive pale gold with a subtle hue of fresh lime green and exudes elegant herbal aromas as well as inviting hints of grapefruit, green fig and floral scents of white elderflower and herbs. After these initial aromas, a complex spectrum of flavours of tangy citrus indulges the senses. Its polished weight, which comes from the Sémillon, is wonderfully balanced by a naturally fresh acidity and an immensely clear fruit. The wine has a dynamic intensity and excellent fruit concentration. Of a full-bodied and luscious character, combined with a well-textured mouthfeel, this white wine cuvée certainly leaves nothing to be desired. Its finesse and elegant balance are convincing.

In its youthful stage, this powerful red wine first shows seductive chocolate notes and a distinct cedar spice on the nose, before the opulent fruit aromas of blackberry jelly, black cherries and cassis take the reins. On the palate, the “Private Collection” presents itself full-bodied and of great structure, the present but sweet tannins are already perfectly embedded. The wonderfully ripe fruit of red and black berries as well as black cherries is beautifully complemented by the noble wood tones and the sweet vanilla notes. The long, intense finish rounds off the impressive picture of an extremely successful wine.
