Why do you spit out wine during a tasting?
Who hasn't asked themselves this question at a wine tasting? Should I drink every drop in the glass and swallow it, or should I generally spit it out? Well, opinions clearly differ on this, as not everyone is there for the same reason. Although too much alcohol clearly impairs the tasting experience.
Of course, there is no obligation to spit at a wine tasting. Nevertheless, it helps to keep a clear head when tasting over 100 wines and reduces the impairment of your sense of taste. With every tasting, some alcohol always enters your throat, even if the wine is spit out. Therefore, proceed strategically during the tasting and feel free to skip a wine occasionally.
