A Lady, a Life for Wine
May-Eliane de Lencquesaing – for many simply "Lady May" – is far more than just a name on a label. The former owner of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Pauillac brought not only her knowledge but also her vision to South Africa in 2003 to re-establish Glenelly Estate in Stellenbosch.
At over 70 years old at the time, she began a new chapter and created a place where French elegance meets South African terroir. Since then, Glenelly has stood for wines with character, depth, and structure – and for a woman who dared to dream big and achieved great things.
Lady May 2020 – Anniversary Vintage with Special Label
In honor of this extraordinary birthday, the new vintage of the eponymous Lady May 2020 will be launched with a limited special label – a stylish tribute to the life's work of May-Eliane de Lencquesaing.
The wine itself reflects everything Lady May stands for: elegance, clarity, longevity. Cabernet Sauvignon forms the backbone, supported by Petit Verdot and Merlot – aged in French oak, vinified with the greatest precision.
