A Bordeaux-style red blend, crafted in a fruit-forward, approachable style. This wine is a true reflection of the terroir and what can be achieved with it in a particular vintage. Wonderful evolution and longevity have made this wine a house brand. Aged for 12+ months in French oak, this complex wine offers aromas of cassis, black cherry, and earthy spice. Medium to full-bodied with seamless tannins and wonderful acidity that pairs with a wide variety of foods.

Vinifikation The Morgenster Lourens River is once again being produced in consultation with Pierre Lurton of Château Cheval Blanc. The grapes are sourced from 10 to 22-year-old vines in vineyards with a diversity of soils, from deep weathered granite to stonier weathered Table Mountain sandstone. Clone material was carefully selected to suit the accessible style aimed for by Morgenster. Matured for 18 months in 25% new French barriques.
