Product Description:
The nose is exceptionally complex, with intense aromas of black currants, graphite, and cigar box. The cassis, subtle spice, perfume, and pencil on the nose lead into a supple, precise mid-palate of pure red and dark berry fruit and great depth. The wine is gentle and balanced, yet powerful, with a delicate texture. The tannins are firm but very fine and the wine lingers with a subtly spicy finish.

Vinifikation The 2015 includes 90% Cabernet Franc from a 15-year-old vineyard high up on the property, along with Merlot from an old block adjacent to the winery. It was fermented in new oak and then aged for 2 years before bottling. With its characteristic silky tannins, the 2015 seems to offer an extra level of performance. One would expect the green or earthy notes of Cabernet Franc to be distinctly present, but The Journeyman aims more for a modern style of fine Bordeaux.
