Quince, poached peach, and a hint of vanilla on the nose. The palate is fresh and offers the fruitiness of peach and quince, but with a beautiful lime note and vibrancy. All of this is balanced by a gentle background of creamy oak – subtly but beautifully integrated with charming vanilla and butterscotch notes. Textural and long, nothing is overdone with impressive harmony, palate weight, and real sophistication.

Vinifikation The Riebeeksrivier farm is situated on the slopes of Kasteelberg overlooking the Swartland. Its unique terroir, particularly the shale soils, is strongly expressed in the wine with unique varietal characteristics. The bush vine Chenin Blanc, planted in 1988, yields fruit of great intensity and richness, balanced by bright acidity and length. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation took place in both stainless steel tanks and 500l French oak barrels, and the wine spent 12 months on the lees before blending and bottling.
