Product Description:
This wine shows fynbos aromas with herbaceous scents expanding on the nose to plums and dark fruits. A hint of lavender presents interesting floral notes. This wine is a bold, structured, and powerful wine that is refined at the same time. Supple oak tannins frame the plum fruit flavor and complement the slight peppery spice note. On the palate, it is savory and appealing with a velvety texture that results from the well-judged seamless oak integration. It is layered and complex with a long defined finish.

Vinifikation The grapes for the Syrah all come from vineyards on our Riebeeksrivier farm in the Swartland. Fermentation took place in a combination of Italian concrete and stainless steel tanks, with each individual fermentation vessel contributing to the finesse and fruit of this wine. The wine was matured in 225-liter French oak barrels for approximately 10 to 12 months. No new oak was used for the maturation of this wine.
