This Bordeaux-style wine has a deep, dark ruby-red color. The nose offers numerous aromas of red and black fruits, violets, dark chocolate, toasted nuts, and vanilla, which continue on the palate. The taste shows excellent balance of fruit, tannin, and oak. The mouthfeel is well-structured with a broad mid-palate and a long finish.

Vinifikation The Cabernet vineyards are located in the Firgrove area, over 6 km from False Bay. Grapes are selected from specific sites based on lower yields, vine age, and soil types. As the average berry weight of the selected vines is less than one gram, they are extremely small and concentrated. The Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are from De Grendel and thrive on Cape coffee stone with light topsoil and broken laterite. Part of the grapes were fermented in closed tanks with regular pump-overs for better extraction, while the other part was fermented with regular punch-downs. The two parts were pressed separately and blended. The wine was then transferred to new French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and aged there for another 18 months.
