Vinifikation Lismore Estate Vineyards in Greyton, Overberg, was founded in 2000 by California-born Samantha O'Keefe. The estate's location offers a combination of cool winter weather and hot African summers, which produce Lismore's "rich, complex, and lovingly handcrafted" wines. Lismore wines experienced their big breakthrough in 2012, when the Lismore Chardonnay and Viognier were each awarded 92 points by Neal Martin (of Robert Parker's Wine Advocate), leading to international success. The 2018 Estate Reserve Syrah is sourced entirely from Greyton, with 50% of the grapes fermented as whole bunches and aged in 500-liter and 700-liter barrels with 30% new oak.
