Product Description:
Perfume character of red and black berry aromas, followed by spice notes that carry through to the palate with well-balanced, soft and round tannins - unexpected in a young Tannat. Black fruit followed by tobacco leaf. This vintage shows great tension on the palate; complex flavors, supported by a freshness that is unique to the Prieska terroir.

Vinifikation The grapes were naturally fermented - 40% as whole clusters and 60% destemmed with regular punch-downs. Tannat naturally has strong tannins. By handling the grapes gently and minimally, we ensure a soft, round tannic expression with an emphasis on the wonderful fruit. After fermentation, the mash is gently pressed and transferred to French oak. A 10-month maturation in older oak barrels ensures that the fruit remains intact and the tannins do not dry out. Before bottling in October 2019, minimal SO2 was added.
