Vinifikation
The boutique winery with the promising name Rainbow's End is located in what is probably South Africa's most famous wine-growing region – Stellenbosch. Viticulture was already practiced here in the late 16th century. In 1978, Jaques Malan bought Rainbow's End to realize his dream of producing world-class wine. Only red grape varieties such as Pinotage, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot are planted. Each vintage is developed individually. The special climate, which is typical for the region, creates ideal conditions for the growth of the grape varieties. Despite the relative proximity to the sea, the region's top vineyards reach altitudes of up to 800 meters. A Mediterranean climate prevails here all year round, characterized by low-rainfall summers and very mild and rainy winters. The soils range from sandy, nutrient-poor subsoils to rich soils with a high granite content. This allows the Malans to achieve excellent results every year, and their wines are now appreciated worldwide. Rainbow's End is a recognized producer of single-varietal quality Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Franc is particularly well suited for the production of exquisite rosé wines. This Cabernet Franc Rosé is made from a selected parcel of the winery, harvested for optimal clarity and quality.
