Fortunately, with all the love and care over the years, the vineyard has developed better and better, and we have found more balance in the vineyards and during harvest. The vines generally show more vitality from year to year. Only perfect grapes were harvested and processed. Granite soils provide a natural freshness and grip in the wines, along with characteristic aromas of pineapple pastilles, apple, oatmeal, and fynbos. The vintage shows the typical salinity and purity that we have come to expect from this old vineyard. Never Been Asked to Dance drinks well young but will continue to provide pleasure for many years to come.

Vinifikation Chenin Blanc, planted in 1956 on the border between Paarl and Stellenbosch along the N1. Unirrigated bush vines on a gentle south-facing slope of decomposed granite. The old plant material tends to produce very dense bunches, so intensive sorting is required during harvest. The grapes are cooled overnight and whole-bunch pressed oxidatively. Natural fermentation and malolactic fermentation occur in 600-litre Stockinger barrels, where the wine matures for another 10 months before bottling.
