Vinifikation Syrah from a small bush-vine vineyard (0.7 ha) planted in 1999 in the "Treinspoor" format (high density) in southern Stellenbosch. The soil consists of decomposed granite with an underlying layer of "koffie-stone". A Syrah whose rows daily breathe in the cool sea air of False Bay. The wine matures for 12 months on fine lees in older 400-liter, 225-liter barrels, and concrete eggs. Slow fermentations of whole grapes under water, no new oak barrels were used.
