Vinifikation The grapes for this wine are harvested from bush vines planted in 1942. The soil type is a combination of red clay and decomposed granite, and the vineyards are laid out from east to west. The bush vine is a very traditional cultivation method in South Africa, where the grapes ripen and thrive in the shade of the bush. Very few Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards are still planted with bush vines, as this reduces the yield, but also slows down the ripening of the grapes.
