This Chenin Blanc, fermented in barrels, showcases the usual partial reductive treatment of the juice in the cellar, with fermentation by wild yeasts occurring in two- and three-year-old French oak barrels. The influence of the oak is minimal, and with a vanilla backdrop, it supports the rich tropical flavors that Chenin Blanc can produce. A hint of botrytis adds a touch of sun-kissed ripeness to the dry wine.

Vinifikation The Chenin Blanc, the Cinderella grape, has taken Stellenrust on an extraordinary journey of discovery. Today, it is truly the belle of the ball and deserves every honor bestowed upon it. South Africa continues to be renowned for its diversity of Chenin Blanc varieties. Stellenrust has won international trophies for the best Chenin Blanc in the world at the International Wine & Spirit Competition for two consecutive years. The Chenin Blanc was fermented 20% in new French oak barrels and 80% in stainless steel tanks. The grapes were treated somewhat reductively. Fermentation was spontaneous and took place in barrels for 7 months. The blend included 3% botrytized grapes from the same vineyard. Traditional winemaking with a touch of residual sugar and oak.
