Product Description:
It has a strong, powerful bouquet with layers of blackberry and raspberry coulis, the new oak quite present though simpatico with the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin and quite spicy in the mouth, with white pepper generously sprinkled over the black fruit and just a hint of pencil leading to the dense and quite long finish.

Vinifikation The grapes always come from the Rondekop vineyards. Growing at 200-220 metres above sea level, these vineyards are extremely wind-exposed, resulting in thick-skinned berries that deliver very concentrated juice. The grapes were hand-picked and destemmed but not crushed. The destemmed grapes were chilled to 8°C and cold macerated for 168 hours. Fermentation took place at 25°C, followed by a 35-day maceration on the skins. After malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine was aged for 17 months in 40% new French oak barrels.
