Product Description:
A wine that is once again all about balance, tension and concentration. Wild strawberries and sour cherries lead the nose alongside the characteristic Indian spices, while liquorice and white truffle add a touch more earthiness to the palate. The tannins have a fresh, pomegranate-skin-like texture, while a fresh line of acidity promises good aging potential.

Vinifikation The year before the planting of the vineyards that give this wine its name, scenes from a film about the life of Napoleon were shot on the grounds. This Cuvée is a selection of barrels made from these individual vineyards, a prime site on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge carefully developed to produce Pinot Noir of the highest quality, planting high-density vines with disease-free Dijon clones. Fermented with only native yeasts with a whole berry (60%) to whole bunch (40%) ratio in a stainless steel tank. Total time in tank was 31 days. The wine was then transferred to barrel (25% new) where it spent 11 months before bottling.
