A beautiful, clear golden color in the glass. Caramelized pineapple, stony, spicy nose. A rich and full-bodied flavor profile. A vibrant palate of honey and salted licorice, peach pulp, apple and pear skins, and slate. Beautiful minerality that highlights the wine's freshness and acidity. A good tannin structure, resulting from the light skin contact. Hints of fennel and rosemary linger in the glass.

Vinifikation David Trafford's Sijnn project is located in Malgas on the Breede River. Forty kilometers from all other vineyards, the incredibly rocky soil and the microclimate influenced by the Breede River are unique in South Africa. After hand-picking, the grapes are transported in flat trays to Stellenbosch in the cool morning. There they are gently crushed and cold-macerated for 2 hours, then pressed in a basket press. The wine matures for 10 months in French oak barriques, 400-liter, and 700-liter barrels. The wine is lightly refined with natural clay before being bottled unfiltered.
