Product Description:
The nose offers complex, multi-layered and intense aromas of cassis, plums, spicy oak and cigar box. On the palate, it is rich and supple, with seamless integration of fruit and oak, delicate tannins and a fine acidity. In the mouth, concentrated flavors of tomato cocktail, black and red fruits, and braised meat explode. A wine of immense purity, depth, and freshness that characterizes the stellar 2017 vintage. A subtle mint note on the finish completes a wine full of details.

Vinifikation The Kanonkop Wine Estate is situated on the lower slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain in the Stellenbosch region of the Western Cape Province and falls within the so-called Simonsberg ward, generally regarded as the ‘red wine bowl’ of South Africa. This area has earned a reputation both locally and internationally as South Africa’s finest viticultural area. The 2017 Paul Sauer spent five days on the skins and matured for 24 months in new French oak barriques.
