KapWeine - Grand Cru Set - Sparkling 2
Six Prestige Cuvées, the best of the Cape in one box
This Grand Cru set brings together six of South Africa's most ambitious Méthode Cap Classiques: exclusively vintage wines, each the flagship or limited special edition of its winery. From Robertson to Constantia and Stellenbosch to Tulbagh, from pure Chardonnay to classic blends. Each bottle has spent years on the lees, disgorged and riddled by hand. A set for connoisseurs who want to experience South African sparkling wine at Champagne level, and an extraordinary gift for people who already have everything.
The six bottles in the set
- Graham Beck Cuvée Clive Brut 2017 The flagship: only from the very best free-run juice (Tête de Cuvée), predominantly Chardonnay, over five years on the lees. Multiple award-winning, prestige cuvée in the truest sense. Robertson and Darling.
- Steenberg Lady R Brut 2018 The Grande Cuvée from the historic Constantia Valley. 70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, almost five years on the lees. Coppery shimmer, apple blossom, almond, salinity. Platter 5-star wine.
- Tokara Blanc de Blanc Brut 2017 Single-varietal Chardonnay from Simonsberg. Bottle-fermented, long lees aging, mineral, precise and elegant. The sophisticated side of one of Stellenbosch's most innovative estates.
- Babylonstoren Sprankel Brut 2017 Blanc de Blanc from hand-picked Chardonnay grapes from Simonsberg. Traditional bottle fermentation, four years on the lees, almost no dosage. Tropical fruits, green apple, fine minerality, long finish.
- Krone Blanc de Blanc Brut 2020 100% Chardonnay from a special parcel on rocky soils on Saronsberg. Night harvest, natural fermentation in large wooden vats, 36 months bottle fermentation, hand-riddled. Acacia blossom, lime, chalk. Tulbagh.
