Product Description:
In a dark ruby red with a violet rim, the Rust en Vrede Estate Vineyard Syrah flows into the glass, exuding complex aromas of olive tapenade, red berries, fine vanilla, and milk chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied, a little on the wild side, and with a subtly mineral core. A hint of roasted herbs and smoked meat combines with fine-grained tannins, culminating in a soft and fruit-driven finish.

Vinifikation Established in 1694, Rust en Vrede is proud to be part of a remarkable three-hundred-year winemaking tradition. Since 1977, the Engelbrecht family has specialized in the exclusive production of red wine, with a focus on Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Owner Jean Engelbrecht has worked to establish Rust en Vrede as one of South Africa's premium red wine estates, producing full-bodied and complex wines that reflect the uniqueness of the Stellenbosch terroir. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which were new wood.
