The classic assemblage of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon is found in some of the world's most famous wines. In the La Motte Millennium 2022, a touch of Petit Verdot contributes further complexity to the flavour and intensity of the colour. Aromatic blackberries and plums dominate, with nuances of fruitcake and dark toffee providing subtle sweetness. The considered barrique aging lends a hint of cloves and aromas of charred oak. The 2022 La Motte Millennium has a medium body, soft yet lively tannins, and a long-lasting berry aftertaste.

Vinifikation Each vineyard has its own microclimate, and vineyards grow on a variety of soil types. Several clones are represented. All vineyards are trellised according to the Perold system and have managed to maintain a perfect balance between canopy cover and yield. Thanks to the different terroirs, each area produces its own distinctive grapes, so the grapes from each area make a unique contribution to taste and structure. The grapes for the wine consist of Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (25%), Cabernet Sauvignon (6%) and Petit Verdot (4%). Before and after destemming, all grapes were hand-sorted. The destemmed berries were immediately inoculated with yeast. Fermentation took place at a temperature between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius, while the wine was pumped over. After fermentation, the wine was left on the lees for another 20 days to improve extraction and body. Malolactic fermentation took place partly in barrels. The different components are matured separately for 12 months in used 300-liter French oak barrels. The wine is then blended, filtered, and bottled.
