Product Description:
By far the smallest production of all Lukas' wines. This vintage is exclusively Syrah, whereas the first 2017 vintage contained a significant portion of Cinsault. 100% whole bunch fermentation and aged for nine months in French oak, one-third new. The nose shows a slightly smoky note of dark fruits and pepper. The palate is powerful due to fruit density rather than high alcohol or extraction; the tannins are firm and crisp, and this, too, will likely need at least 12 months in the bottle to show its best.

Vinifikation Van Loggerenberg Wines was founded by Lukas and his wife Roxanne with their maiden vintage in 2016. The 2019 vintage is the fourth release for Lukas - a rising star, young gun, and 2018 Young Winemaker of the Year by Tim Atkin. Growing up in Rawsonville in the Breedekloof Valley, Lukas was always surrounded by vineyards and wine. His wines are produced in Devon Valley, and the grapes are sourced from Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Swartland. Each wine and its name has a specific story behind it, and his wines have become highly sought after. From the same site as the much lauded Sons of Sugarland and the Damascene Syrah. Farmed by Jozua Joubert on the Karibib farm in Stellenbosch.
