Product Description:
The Saxenburg Private Collection Syrah 2020 has an alluring nose of cherries, ripe blackberries, and a combination of white and black pepper. These aromas carry through to the palate, which is beautifully weighted, with fine-grained tannins that provide just enough grip. A wine that balances weight and power with brightness and elegance. It drinks beautifully on release, but will also reward cellaring for 10 or more years.

Vinifikation The grapes come from various parcels across 3 vineyards within the wine farm. They were harvested, destemmed, crushed, and fermented separately in open tanks, with daily pump-overs. Some components were left on the skins for further maceration for another 3 weeks, before spontaneous malolactic fermentation occurred in the tank. Once this was complete, the wine was transferred into 300-liter oak barrels, 20% of which were new wood. It matured in these barrels for 12 months, after which it was assembled.
