Vinifikation Due to the persistent drought, yields were much lower, resulting in a higher berry concentration. The Swartland vineyards are known for their slate and granite soils, which provide a pleasant climate and liveliness in the wine. This increases the volume of Grenache and Cinsault in the assemblage and significantly improves the flavour profile. The Grenache contributes to the fruit purity, while the Cinsault is responsible for the floral strawberry notes. The Syrah remains the structural backbone. The Grenache was matured in 600-liter wooden barrels to preserve its fruity aroma, while the other grape varieties matured in barriques and 2500-liter oak barrels. The total maturation period in the wooden barrels was 12 months, and 2057 barriques were produced.
