Product Description:
The well-defined bouquet offers aromas of crushed strawberries, raspberry preserve, and light orange blossom. Oak is judiciously used here. On the palate, the medium-bodied profile offers crisp red berry fruit with subtle tea and bay leaf notes. Quite fresh and Burgundian in style, with a sharp, grainy finish and just a hint of salinity on the aftertaste.

Vinifikation Our wooded red wine is made from a grape that is arguably the best of all varietals for expressing terroir and site. The maritime-influenced climate is so pronounced that Ataraxia's Pinot Noirs are among the few harvested in Hemel-en-Aarde, specifically from low-vigor, stony, clay-rich soils of Bokkeveld Shale. The wine was aged in 20% new French oak barrels.
