No question, this is the best Shiraz from the Cape. On the nose, aromas of black fruits explode with an abundance of dark plums and violets, white pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and dark chocolate. On the palate, the Boekenhoutskloof Syrah shows a very intense fruit depth, with a dense grip and a long, complex finish. Even now, in its young years, it is extremely well-balanced and rounded. Shiraz lovers should not miss this limited bottling.

Vinifikation The grapes for this Syrah come from three different vineyards and are, due to individual characteristics, separately sorted, destemmed, lightly crushed, and vinified. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in concrete tanks, after which the wines mature in large traditional 2500-liter barrels for up to 18 months before being blended.
