Product Description:
Medium deep, luminous red colour. Red berries, cherries and spicy tomato paste on the nose with a little fynbos character. Also some blueberry and blackcurrant, with well-integrated new French oak. Bright red fruits and spices on the palate and a lovely fine texture. The rich yet refined berry fruit of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot form the core, the wonderful spice of Syrah and Cabernet Franc adding another dimension.

Vinifikation A single-vineyard wine from the beautiful Mont Fleur farm, located at the top of a picturesque valley above Stellenbosch, 393 metres high between the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountains. The estate is owned by the Trafford family and run by a small team of dedicated staff. A drawing of the family home, which forms the centre of the vineyard, appears on the label – sketched by former architect David Trafford. The grapes were hand-picked, sorted, destemmed, and gently crushed. Fermentation occurred spontaneously in open fermenters at a maximum of 30°C for 12 to 15 days with regular pump-overs. Free-run juice and juice from the first pressing were used, and the assemblage took place after 9 months. In total, the Elevation 393 matured for 20 months in French oak barrels.
