Vinifikation After the 2022 harvest, conditions were cooler and drier, but sufficient chilling hours ensured problem-free budburst. Due to the dry conditions, the soils warmed up faster, leading to budburst occurring 1–2 weeks earlier. Initial growth was vigorous and promising. However, due to the drought and lower water availability, the berries remained smaller. Rain in December increased disease pressure, which required winemakers to adapt their measures. Ripening then progressed quickly and evenly, and harvesting began 7–10 days earlier than in the previous year. Overall, the conditions resulted in small, concentrated berries with good balance. The 2023 vintage is described as a result of favorable weather conditions and targeted vineyard work, with an earlier harvest and a focus on fruit-driven, concentrated, and terroir-driven wines.
