Vinifikation The harvest date was, on average, about two weeks later, due to the unusually cold and wet spring conditions, which delayed bud break. The abundant rainfall continued into early summer. This led to a larger vine canopy and required additional resources to manage the vigorous growth. Flowering was largely even and fruit set was good, giving hope for a bountiful harvest. Temperatures at the beginning of the growing season were cool to moderate, gradually warming towards ripening. Notably absent were the heat waves that typically occur in February and March. This meant that water resources were less strained and the grapes suffered little to no sunburn. We were delighted with the flavors during tasting for harvest decisions. The berries had soft skins, bursting with flavor, vibrant freshness, and a robust tannin structure. The grape harvest began in the second week of February, and we were blessed with mild weather for the rest of the season. The wines from this vintage are intensely colored and show a refined balance and gravity. Matured for 18 months in French oak barrels.
