Distinct aromas of sour cherry, ripe blackcurrant, and black plum, underscored by a perfume of violets and dried herbs. Spicy undertones of cocoa, cedar, and graphite demand further exploration. The concentrated dark fruit flavors are powerful on entry, with the mid-palate wonderfully balancing this thanks to the freshness. The delicious, fine-grained tannins provide a mouth-coating texture with excellent persistence and length. This wine is wonderfully centered, linking its structured nature with the dark fruit flavors while retaining excellent freshness and finesse.

Vinifikation A carefully composed cuvée of 28% Cabernet Franc, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 14% Petit Verdot and 9% Malbec, matured for 19 months in 80% new and 20% second-fill 225-litre French oak barrels. After barrel maturation, the wine underwent a very light filtration before being bottled on 12 December 2023. As no fining agents were used in the production of this wine, harmless sediment may develop during bottle maturation. This is a classic and powerful vintage of Constantia Glen FIVE, which, under proper storage conditions, will continue to mature and develop splendidly in the bottle for up to 10 to 15 years after harvest.
