Robust and full-bodied with silky tannins, the palate is complex and beautifully textured. Concentrated flavors of red fruits, white pepper, and tomato leaf are abundant. Vinifikation The 2020 harvest began with a somewhat dry winter, with rainfall below average. Despite windy conditions during the growing season, our vineyards remained undamaged. The wind caused a delay in budbreak and a later ripening phase. Picking began on March 3rd and continued under hot and windy conditions until April 10th. To fully exploit Anwilka's potential, the vineyard blocks were divided by location, ripeness, and soil type. These blocks were harvested by hand, processed separately, and micro-vinified. Alcoholic fermentation took place in tronconic stainless steel tanks, with lengthy pump-overs and extended maceration for a gentle extraction of ripe polyphenols. After careful tasting and selection, only the best batches were chosen for the Anwilka first label. They were aged for 16 months in 60% new 400-litre French oak barrels. After further rigorous selection, only the best batches were used for the final assemblage.
