Product Description:
A powerful, structured wine with intense dark fruit aromas and a hint of chocolate from the oak barrel. A wine of great complexity and balance with a long-lasting finish. It pairs exceptionally well with aged rib-eye steak or Prego steak rolls. The wine can be excellently stored for 10 years or more. Pleasant aromas of plum and blackberry in the foreground, with a lovely note of cedar in the background.

Vinifikation In homage to Beyerskloof’s Kriekbult farm, the first site-specific Pinotage was produced from 27-year-old Pinotage bush vines. The vineyards used for this wine boast a distinctive style, perfectly expressing the unique characteristics of well-aged Pinotage. 5 days in open fermenters, with the cap punched down by hand every two hours. Fermentation temperature ranged between 25 and 28 °C. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matured for 20 months in 50% new and 50% second-fill barrels.
