On the palate, it is precise and powerful with delightful tension. Ripe raspberry and cinnamon lead with underlying layers of cigar and fine tannin.

Vinifikation The Cabernet vineyards are situated in the Firgrove area, over 6km from False Bay. The grapes are selected from specific sites based on lower yields, vine age, and soil types. As the average berry weight of the selected vines is less than one gram, they are extremely small and concentrated. The Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot are from De Grendel and thrive on Cape coffee stone with a light topsoil and broken laterite. Part of the grapes were fermented in a closed tank with regular pump-overs for better extraction, while the other part was fermented with regular punch-downs. The two parts were pressed separately and blended. The wine was then transferred to new French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and aged there for another 18 months.
