The De Krans Cape Vintage Reserve pours into the glass with a dark, almost inky black color and a plum-red rim, captivating the nose with an exciting bouquet of red berries, violets, vanilla, and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is incredibly complex and full-bodied with opulent and powerful notes of ripe fruit flavors like dried plum, mulberries, and blackcurrant, beautifully rounded off with undertones of dark cocoa and fine spices. Its excellent tannin structure ensures outstanding aging potential.

Vinifikation The grapes for De Krans Cape Vintage Reserve, selected with great care, were hand-picked and, upon arrival at the cellar, destemmed, crushed, and rapidly cooled down in open fermentation tanks. The grapes were left to ferment spontaneously, meaning fermentation of the berries was initiated solely by wild yeast cultures naturally present in the environment. At the desired sugar level, the fermentation process was stopped by adding alcohol to the juice. The wine then matured for 20 months in large barrels.
