The De Toren Fusion V 2020 is a complex and elegant wine with a modern character. On the nose, it unfolds intense aromas of blackcurrants, ripe plums, and cherries, accompanied by floral notes of violets and subtle hints of cigar box, cedarwood, and dried herbs. On the palate, it presents itself velvety with fine-grained tannins and a harmonious acidity that perfectly balances the opulent fruit concentration. Nuances of crème de cassis, black licorice, and graphite lead to a long, spicy finish with layers of black cherry and plum spice. The wine exudes sophistication and has impressive aging potential.

Vinifikation The grapes originate from the Polkadraai Hills in Stellenbosch, known for their granite-rich soils which promote complexity and elegance. All varietals are fermented individually in small batches to extract the best aromas. Subsequently, the wine is aged in French barriques for approximately 12-18 months, with a high proportion of new barrels used to support the wine's structure and spice. The careful blending only takes place after barrel aging to ensure harmonious balance. The result is a wine with intense fruit aromas, elegant oak spice, and great aging potential.
