Product Description:
Brilliant bright gold. The nose is complex with aromas of apricot, sandalwood, spice, and Seville marmalade. A fresh acidity and salinity, with notes of nutmeg, citrus, jasmine blossom and rosewater. Creamy and rich, the palate is structured and complex with a delicate wood spice on the mid-palate. There is a fine balance between sugar and acidity, resulting in a drier style of Vin de Constance. Concentrated and vibrant, the wine finishes with a long, pithy and almost bitter aftertaste.

Vinifikation
In the cooler, less erratic 2022 season, we began harvesting our early-ripening grapes on March 9. Over the next three weeks, we picked 25 different lots, ranging from grapes with lower sugar content and high acidity to significantly sweeter, more concentrated grapes, the last of which were harvested on March 30. Interestingly, this approach mirrored the conditions and practices of the 2020 harvest. Each lot was processed separately, with most receiving only two weeks of skin contact prior to pressing. At this stage, we blend different components to achieve the optimal balance of sugar, acidity, and alcohol, allowing fermentation to cease naturally. The wine then aged for 18 months in 50% new 500-liter Hungarian and French oak barrels, followed by another 16 months in a large wooden foudre. The 2022 harvest period was characterized by patience and precision. The moderate weather during this time led to a later-than-usual harvest, marked by cooler conditions, extended hang time, and optimal phenolic ripeness. These factors contributed to the development of exceptional fruit concentration, lower pH levels, and higher natural acidity. Although the harvest occurred up to two weeks later than in previous years, the absence of rain or heatwaves allowed our harvest to be completed in just three weeks. Post-harvest conditions in 2021 set the stage for an exceptional 2022 season. Warm weather and abundant rain delayed leaf fall, allowing the vines to build sufficient reserves for dormancy. This was followed by a colder, wetter winter that extended into spring, creating ideal conditions for the growing season.
