The aromas retain their underlying dark, plum-like, black fruit complexity with intriguing nuances of blueberry pie, blackcurrant confit, and sweet, melted black licorice. On the palate, it displays incredible finesse with vibrant acidity, sweet, savory, velvety tannins, a fleshy, luxurious core of blackcurrants and blueberries, and a finish with the softest possible, fine-grained, mineral texture. All in all, the 2019 shows a little more finesse, a pinch more plushness, and a polished elegance.

Vinifikation The 2019 is once again a blend of 50% Touriga Nacional and 50% Syrah from 14-year-old bush vines grown in river pebbles and schist. Picked on the same day and co-fermented, the wine spent 2 weeks on its skins before being aged for 11 months in neutral oak foudres. A great deal of work went into fine-tuning the blend, such as the 100% destemming. The result is one of the plushest, most opulent, and seamlessly harmonious red wines from Duncan Savage.
