The Private Collection Pinotage 2022 showcases red and dark fruits with notes of blackcurrant, dark cherry, rosewater, and forest floor. Whole-berry fermentation creates an appealing carbonic note. Subtle hints of mocha and dark chocolate complete the bouquet. On the palate, it offers a smooth entry, with well-balanced tannins and acidity giving the wine a pleasant mouthfeel.

Vinifikation The vines grow predominantly on weathered Table Mountain sandstone soils. The grapes were hand-picked at optimal phenolic ripeness, destemmed, and fermented as whole berries in open-top fermenters. Regular gentle pump-overs and cool fermentation temperatures ensured a delicate extraction. The wine was not allowed extended skin contact to avoid any bitterness. The wine was aged for 12 months in used 300-liter French oak barrels.
