The nose is full of notes of cranberries, strawberries, and red currants, along with hints of musk and earth. The palate is relatively light with sweet fruit, citrusy acidity, and fine yet grippy tannins, finishing nicely dry.

Vinifikation The Vrede Pinot Noir comes from a steep, north-east facing slope in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley with stony, clay-rich, low-nutrient Bokkeveld shale soils. 15% of the grapes were fermented as whole bunches and the wine was matured for 11 months in 25% new French oak barrels.
