Product Description:
It has a clean and precise bouquet with intense aromas of blackberries, wild strawberries, graphite, and melted tar. On the palate, it is dense and full-bodied with powerful black fruit interwoven with graphite and a hint of spice. It feels robust but not muscular, even a little angular on the finish, suggesting it needs two or three years in bottle to mellow out. Very promising for the long term.

Vinifikation The vineyard used for the production of the V is Stone Pine IV. This vineyard consists of two adjacent units located to the west-northwest on the inland slopes of the Schaapenberg. It is relatively protected from the prevailing breeze coming from False Bay and therefore enjoys a slightly warmer, but still predominantly maritime climate. The grapes were hand-harvested and fermented in closed tanks at temperatures of 25-28°C. The young wine was macerated for 21 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged in 100% new French oak barrels. The V was matured for 21 months in these barrels, after which it was bottle-aged for 24 months before being released onto the market.
