The L’Ormarins Brut Rosé shows a beautiful coral hue in the glass and smells seductively of cherries and strawberries. Nuances of baked bread and sponge cake mingle with it and are ensnared by a hint of candy floss. On the palate, the elegant sparkling wine is wonderfully fresh and crisp with a beautiful acidity that skilfully underlines the red berry and citrus fruit flavours. Boschkloof Conclusion is a true expression of good grape quality and terroir. The wine has been made as naturally as possible. The nose shows aromas of mixed herbs, crushed plums and some nice cigar box aromas. The wine is highly concentrated with a big but elegant mid palate and a long finish.

On the nose, the Chocolate Block is deep and dark, enticing with aromas of black fruits and hints of pepper and spice. The blueberry and blackberry aromas of the bouquet continue on the palate with flavours of dark plums, dust, graphite and cocoa nibs. The wine is concentrated and elegant, with fresh and well-integrated acidity followed by fine-grained tannins that give it exceptional structure. The nose is dark and intense with aromas of black cherries, cardamom, sweet tobacco, espresso and subtle scents. The dark fruit character of the nose continues on the palate with an exceptionally complex, juicy flavour with gentle nuances of ripe plums, violets, black olives, cloves and liquorice. The mid palate is concentrated, supple and elegant with very fine, cocoa powdery tannins. The wine is medium-bodied, very balanced with an earthy, layered character that covers the full spectrum of berry fruits – from tart red plums to rich blueberries and blackberries. The finish is lean, clean and dry, peppery and persistent, with hints of dried cranberries, tar, graphite and smoke.

Due to the drought this year, the yields are smaller, which has led to an increased and healthier concentration of berries. Like the previous vintages, this cult wine is characterised by its aromatic, fresh and spicy liveliness. The Grenache grapes give the wine its fruity aromas, while the predominant Shiraz share takes care of the powerful aromas. A complex wine with a lot of freshness. Structured with good balance, strong, velvety body. Elegant and mouth-filling, long-lasting, with good development potential, ripe tannins and a long finish.

The purity, fragrance and spice of the granite fruits are complemented by the earthy tones of the grapes from slate and shale outcrops, which give the wine structure and depth. Incense, allspice, dark and loamy earth, black tea and meat spices simmer against a juicy backdrop of blackberries. The palate is nuanced and persistent. Expressive, generous, savoury notes of black olive tapenade spread across the supple, fruity palate. The extremely low-yield sites provide excellent flavour concentration, and firm, ripe tannins lead to a subtly smoky finish.

A uniqueness. So expressive for its frontier location, a mountainous vineyard at 940 metres above sea level. Floating red fruits, sour cherry, cranberry; the scent of sandalwood, scrub and fynbos, a hint of white pepper, dazzling and powerful. The gentle winemaking ensures that the austerity and lightness of being of the wine remain intact. On the palate, the fresh red fruit continues, underlined by a riper hint of blackcurrant, wrapped in a fine-boned structure. The clear, precise acidity recalls the coolness of the site; the spiciness lingers into the finish.

There is a duality here, a mirror held up to two different places, the Bottelary and the Polkadraai Hills; fragrant wild roses and sandalwood lead to a nose of spice and smoke, of black olive and ploughed earth, of salt-baked stone. The palate is nuanced, a bright brilliance of fruit wrapped in that electric minerality. This clarity runs throughout, guided by silky tannins, a touch of opulence as it finishes fine and long. This wine will be at its most expressive within five years of harvest, but with careful ageing will continue to develop and improve for more than a decade.

The wine is extremely expressive for these different sites with soils of pure slate, greywacke and granite; aromas of waxy flowers opening on the nose, crushed limestone, smoked honey and wet stone. Harmonious. On the palate, the yellow peaches are bright and sun-drenched, while the density of fruit – tangy apricot, mango and caramelised pineapple – is pithy and mouth-filling. The mineral acidity carries all the richness of the fruit into a refreshing finish with a hint of toasted nuts in the aftertaste.

A modern classic. Fruit from the Helderberg, Bottelary and Vlottenburg sites combine to create a wine of supreme balance and intensity. The wine is characterised by plums and red currants, with cassis, fresh green herbs, lead pencil and a hint of spice and smoke. On the palate it is long and round, with equal power and freshness. It has a deliberate density, a rich fruitiness with a granite-like seam and a pure core of cassis. The extended, broad mouthfeel is framed by judicious ageing of 22 months in new French oak. The tannins are firm, adding structure and intensity, balanced by refreshing acidity and moderate alcohol. Elegant, dry finish.
