At KapWeine, not only are the wines kings, but our team is also an important part and ensures that we can offer our customers a smooth service. But did you know that power women are also at work at KapWeine?
Power women at KapWeine; yes, one can indeed say that. Where men in the classic sense were too proud, this definitely belongs to the past. At KapWeine, women should be able to assert themselves in their profession and become an important part of every hierarchical level of the business. So we can also be proud to move with the times and have some power women at KapWeine.
Wine World
If you now ask us: "Is wine a world for men?" the answer would be clear and loud: "Perhaps it used to be, but certainly not anymore."
The world of wines no longer knows gender, neither in terms of consumption nor profession. Women have always been there, formerly behind the scenes, and now in the foreground. We at KapWeine know that enjoying a special glass of wine belongs in today's society, which no longer provides for gender segregation.
Did you know that, according to wineawards.org, 80% of wines are bought by women and over 60% of wines are consumed by women. Not bad, right? At KapWeine, we also notice an increase in female customers - which we notice more and more often at our tasting events.
Myth debunked
The idea that women only like sparkling wine is a myth. A study by winebusiness.com shows that wine consumption by men and women is similar across different types of wine. Women's consumption in numbers: 44% enjoy red wine, 28% white wine and 7% rosé.
Power Women
As previously mentioned, there are no prejudices at Kapweine. We have understood that gender equality is important and that women want to be valued for what they have to offer. Be it for what is in our minds or for what we can create with our work, and not for being a stereotypical symbol or image. The key is to feel good about yourself and to find out where your own contribution is greatest. And at KapWeine, there are intelligent power women.
At our tasting events, for example, there are more female than male Cape Angels (KapWeine helpers) in the hall. It's good to see that nobody is surprised when a woman is responsible for the wines and has the say in the hall or warehouse. Our female colleagues are wine experts and power women, have very profound wine know-how and also know South Africa very well. "Our customers can count themselves lucky to be served by the best wine hosts."
Yes, of course, KapWeine is not yet perfect. We are still a small team that is gradually expanding, and there will still be plenty of room for power women. Currently, our proportion of women is 43%, with 2 out of 5 leadership positions held by women. Overall, however, we can be proud to have such energetic women on board!
