Tip #13 – For a refreshed wine cellar

in four steps

Spring is finally here! But with the change of seasons, it's also time to refresh our wine cellars.

To do this properly, we need to focus on what we want, need, or have to throw away. Use a day when you can be calm and focused. This work depends on the number of wines you have and helps you know what you have available and in what quantities.

For the change of season, you should do the following:

1) Count the bottles you own: Analyze your preferences: Did you drink more white or red wine in winter? Which wines did you like best? Are there still bottles of that wine or should you buy more?

2. Which wines will you recycle? Decide which wines you want to reuse for cocktails or recipes.

3. Replenish your supplies: Write down what you need to replenish your wine cellar. Make a list and visit the Kapweine online shop. If you don't know what to order, simply come to one of our tasting events to discover new wines and expand your palate. Our experts can advise you while you explore the different regions of South Africa through wine.

4) Store your wines correctly: Prepare your wine cellar well. Store the bottles you want to keep carefully so that the wine does not spoil.

According to the website statista.com, around 31.5 liters of wine per capita were consumed in Switzerland in 2020. Cleaning your wine collection is important because it gives you an idea of which direction you're going and what you'll need when it's time to celebrate.
