Wineries:

Kapweine does not carry any wineries from the Worcester wine region in its assortment.

In the Worcester wine region, located about 120km from Cape Town, large-scale production has been and continues to be carried out. Nearly a quarter of the South African grape harvest is brought in here. Many of the grapes (primarily Chenin Blanc and Colombard) are traditionally processed into brandy or sold as open wine to wholesalers. However, there is also a growing number of producers focusing on quality, who have planted noble varieties and produce excellent wines, especially superb sweet wines. In terms of value for money, many affordable and good red and white wines also come from Worcester. Due to the rather warm climate, the wines are full-bodied and powerful.

The wine region is situated in the Breede River Valley (a river valley), surrounded by mountains on three sides, and bordering Robertson on the fourth side. In this large area, many different soil types and varying climatic conditions can be found, where increasingly suitable grape varieties are cultivated. Significant development is also underway here. The move away from uniform production is a given.
