Vinifikation The excellent soils and optimal microclimate produce wines that perfectly represent the special style of South African wines: intense, varietally typical fruitiness with a full body, yet elegant and easy to drink. A great representative of this genre and proof of what the Shiraz grape variety can achieve in Stellenbosch is this single-varietal red wine from the Family Reserve - the flagship range of the Kleine Zalze winery. The grapes for this successful red wine come from both Stellenbosch and Faure, which is even closer to the coast. Exclusively the best grapes from the respective top single vineyards are used for this Shiraz. The harvest takes place by hand early in the morning and after careful vinification, the wine matures for 20 months in 65% new French oak barriques, with only the best barrels from the winery being used.
